Alma Cottage brought back to life

Over the past 12 months we have been working on the restoration of Alma Cottage in Moffat. This was a full rebuild where we took the existing shell of the building and transformed it into a modern living space.

For those of you interested in the detail, concrete jambs and mullions replaced with reclaimed sandstone prior to sandblasting. These details make all the difference to the finished look. New owner’s choice of curtains hung this morning in prep for their moving in date. A beautiful 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom home which is essentially a new build with a repointed exterior front wall . Project managed by Mike with our fantastic team of trades.

RGL Plant hire for groundwork, concrete and steels, Hartfell Homes for patio area , George Hunter and son all joinery, Raymond McKinney and son for decorating, Raymond Currie plastering, Matchetts electrical, CT Plumbing, LK Roofing, Creative flooring, John Muir for tiling, Kitchens International, Solway Tiles and Wilsons Audio.

A little update with a few more pics and a mention to Stan Scott who did the beautiful pointing. Thank you for all of your kind comments . We are so pleased with the results ourselves and really chuffed that we have taken an old unloved building and created a lovely new home. Jane x
